Afternoon Break by BenCab - Framed Puzzle Edition
THE HARAYA FRAMED EDITION
This artwork began as a Haraya puzzle. By special request, our team carefully assembles each puzzle before framing it for display. Piece by piece, between projects, meetings, and the rhythms of daily work, every completed artwork carries not only the image itself but also the time and care invested in bringing it together.
Created for those who love the artwork but may not have the time to complete the puzzle themselves, these framed editions make it possible to enjoy the piece immediately in homes, offices, and meaningful spaces.
Because each piece is assembled by our small team, only a limited number can be prepared at any given time. Please allow several days to a few weeks for assembly and framing.
Features:
- Completed by hand by the Looking for Juan team and framed as a finished artwork
- Finished artwork size: 38.38 cm x 61 cm

Each artwork comes professionally framed in our standard black gallery frame with archival matting, ready to display upon arrival.

THE ARTWORK
BenCab’s keen observation of everyday moments comes to life in his visual storytelling. This is much revealed in “Afternoon Break,” where he captures the essence of rural life by depicting farmers on a lunch break amid the serene countryside. With each brushstroke, he gracefully mirrors the subtleties of daily existence and our shared humanistic experiences—inviting the audience to discover beauty in the ordinary.
THE ARTIST
Ben Cabrera or BenCab (born 1942 in Manila) is a Philippine art icon. In 2006, he was proclaimed National Artist for the Visual Arts.
In the 1970s, he pioneered the exploration of social and political themes. He is acclaimed for his draftsmanship in expressing universal human sympathies and everyday narrative drama.
He established the BenCab Museum in 2009 in his mountain home of Baguio, housing his collection of tribal art from the Cordillera and contemporary Philippine art.
In 2009, the University of the Philippines’ College of Fine Arts, his alma mater, gave him a doctorate in Humanities, honoris causa. He received another honorary doctorate from the University of the Cordilleras in 2018.
A highlight of his career was “BenCab 50 Creative Years” in 2015, a yearlong celebration with retrospective exhibitions in eight museums and the publication of a two-volume book, BenCab FILIPINO ARTIST.
THE ORDER OF NATIONAL ARTISTS
The Order of National Artists is the highest national recognition awarded to Filipinos who have made significant contributions to Philippine arts. It honors the artists’ legacy in Music, Dance, Theater, Visual Arts, Literature, Film and Broadcast Arts, and Architecture or Allied Arts.
