Chisco is fragile but loves to play outdoors. Because of his failing health, his father decided to restrict Chisco inside their house. When the Kamagong tree that once became his playground fell off, his father used this for a surprise—a horse sculpture that would accompany Chisco until the end.

Si Chisco ay sakitin ngunit mahilig maglaro sa labas. Dahil sa kaniyang humihinang kalusugan ay nagpasiya ang kaniyang tatay na hindi na lalabas si Chisco ng bahay. Nang matumba ang puno ng Kamagong na minsang naging palaruan niya, ginamit ito ng kaniyang tatay para sa isang surpresa—isang tumba-tumba na makakasama ni Chisco hanggang sa huli.

About the Author: Becky Bravo's first foray into children's fiction genre began in 1996 during a short-lived attempt at a master's degree in creative writing. One of the first classes she took was an undergraduate course in children's fiction, and it was for this class that she wrote her first actual children's story titled "Fetch." On her first crack at joining the Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards in 1997, "Fetch" came away with the Second Prize for Children's Fiction in English. She has participated in the contest every year since, winning First Prize in 2000 for "Fish for Two," and another in 2004 for "The Cat Painter," both of which were later published as picture books. She became a member of KUTING in 2004.

About the Artist: Elmer Borlongan began his drawing and painting lessobs under the inspired tutelage of Fernando Sena at the early age of eleven. He took art coursee at UP Diliman College of Fine Arts ss a painting major, and had won numerous awards in various painting competitions. He is included in the roster if the prestigious Thirteen Artists Awards (1994), and has represented the Philippines in various international art festivals. He was Artist-in-Residence in ARCUS Ibaraki, Japan (1996). His works are in the collections of the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum and the Singapore Art Museum. 

He currently resides with his artist-wife Plet Bolipata in San Antonio, Zambales.
