About the Artwork
“I was given this 5 x 10 foot, handmade paper from Kathmandu, Nepal. It inspired me to do a large drawing of portraits of our HEROES OF THE PAST or revolucionarios. I composed it from vintage photographs and wanted the subjects to stare at the people, the audience. It gives a strong image of confronting our heroes and asking them what they did to defend our country. But there are no big personalities here like Emilio Aguinaldo. These are ordinary rebels, not the usual glorified heroes.” - BenCab
