Message from the Writer: "This collection of stories was a godsend in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. 'Green' lost in the Romeo Forbes Competition. But in January 2021, CANVAS director Gigo Alampay called me out of the blue not just to pick the story up for publication, but to ask me to write two more. And so, in my own way, I also grew a hopeful little garden while stuck in the confines of my house. My thanks to Cedrick dela Paz for suggesting the storylines for his drawings—the seeds that grew into 'Kuwentong Barbero' and 'Cats and Dogs.'"

Message from the Illustrator: "When I was just starting out as an artist, I dreamt of the opportunity to have a book with CANVAS. This process was challenging, enjoyable, and filled with new experiences. It is an honor to create three series of paintings for the stories that sprouted from the playful mind of the brilliant writer Becky Bravo. This work is not mine alone. It is the product of collaboration among people contributing their talents to create a book that will bring smiles to the faces of readers, young and old alike."
